This will be a bit of a departure from my regular Disney planning posts. I am super proud of my second oldest child, and felt the need to share.
My son started the school year with white board art in the library featuring Thor of the Avengers.
And now he’s finishing the year with the Avengers once again featured in the library white board art.
This has been a huge year for growth for this child. At one time diagnosed with ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder) as well as ADHD, and then Aspergers (Autism Spectrum), this kid has a phenomenal drive to succeed-“whatever it takes”.
He used to have meltdowns that would last upwards of 45 minutes. He graduated last year with Highest Honors (and Distinguished Honor Roll), a better than 4.0 GPA, and working with our doctor and his counselor learned to focus without medication (he’s been medication-free for 3.5 years now). I couldn’t be more proud of this kid.
College away from home was a rough adjustment. The first month was particularly challenging , but he was determined to press onward—“Whatever it takes”.
We think he’s finishing his freshman year with a B average, and I couldn’t be more pleased. I just want my kids to do their best, and he has made me so happy with how he gets up time and time again despite challenges. .
Because of your grit and perseverance Whirlwind, I know you’ll succeed “whatever it takes”.
