New this year
Disney modified its usual “Free Dining” offer to be just for kids so far this year.
With Disney’s dining plans you can always pay the difference to get the next plan up, but you can’t go down in price if you want a smaller meal plan. In other words, depending upon where you stay, it may not be as great a deal as it was in the past.
Kids Free Dining is something new this year. I’ve been following Disney Free Dining for a number of years and this is the first time I’m seeing it offered for just kids. These plans have been Disney’s way to get families to the parks during slower periods. We’ve gotten “Free Dining” as late as the end of October. In the past it was offered to the whole family. (In fact, everyone on the same reservation had to buy into it or no one in the room could).
Time will tell if Disney decides to revamp its offerings and go for a larger deal for the whole family.
So what will you do? Will you take advantage of this newer option just for kids to have “Free Dining” or wait until later to go? Personally I like it when it is offered for the “adults” too since I have four teenage and grown sons who have fairly big stomachs.
Whatever you do, good luck and see you in the parks!
