5 Days of Christmas- Day 4: Peppermint Punch and Chocolate Bundt Cake

5 Days of Christmas- Day 4: Peppermint Punch and Chocolate Bundt Cake

Blog, Craft Activities, While You're Waiting
One of our favorite holiday traditions is to make peppermint punch when we decorate our Christmas tree. When you pair it with a chocolate bundt cake it's even more heavenly. You can use your favorite chocolate bundt cake recipe. For the Peppermint Punch Blue Bunny has a peppermint ice cream in a lovely pink shade which is what we grew up with. Peppermint Punch: Ingredients: 2 parts peppermint ice cream (ie one quart) 1 part vanilla ice cream (1/2 quart) Milk Ginger ale Red food coloring if desired (when it's hard to find the pink colored ice cream) Directions: Let ice cream soften at room temperature. Mix the ice creams together and begin to add ginger ale and milk in small amounts until the whole thing is frothy and pour-able.  …

Have a Disney Lover in Your Life?Do you have someone in your life who loves all things Disney? Trying to figure out what to get for them? I've complied a list of items ranging in prices that would be thoughtful gifts this year. I'm including it as part of my 5 Days of Christmas. 1. This ambitious 4,080 piece LEGO set would proudly be displayed in any Disney lover's home. Standing at over 29" high, this massive set has five mini-figures and lots of fun details inside. 5 Days of Christmas-Day 2: Watch Ralph Breaks the Internet

Blog, Movie Review, Reviews, While You're Waiting
12 Days of Christmas Activity - Watch Ralph Breaks the Internet Our family loves to take in movies during the holidays. We have a lot of us, so we tend to go to matinees and pick our movies carefully. If you haven't seen it yet, a fun family activity would be to watch Ralph Breaks the Internet. What We Knew Going In We knew from multiple trailers Sugar Rush gets broken, WiFi gets plugged in, and Ralph and Vanellope leave the surge station to go the internet. Some trailers show them buy something on eBay and needing to pay for it. They encounter a racing game and lots of new characters and go to the Oh My Disney website. One of the trailers has Vanellope encountering all the Disney Princesses…

5 Days of Christmas-Day 1: Visiting the Holiday Light Display on Jeater Bend in Celebration

Blog, While You're There
Merry Christmas! I've had to modify the challenge given to me by another blogger - it's now a 5 Days of Christmas challenge. So every day for the next 5 days I will be posting Disney related crafts and activities until we hit the big day. Today is Day One. Let's get started! Day One - Holiday Lights On Jeater Bend DriveWith the expansions going on in Hollywood Studios the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights was retired. Many people have wonderful memories of the holiday light displays in the Streets of America. I've heard more than a few people wonder where they can see such a display like that. Movie Review-Avengers: Infinity War

Movie Review, Reviews
In honor of the newest Avengers: End Game trailer release, I'm publishing this review of Avengers: Infinity War I originally wrote (but didn't publish) for 8 Busy Bees.  We've been Marvel fans for a while. Last Saturday we took the family to see Avengers: Infinity War. Excited doesn't begin to cover it.  My daughter texted the following when we told her. [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="270"] Captured screen shots of Princess Ballerina's reaction to purchasing tickets to Infinity War[/caption] We really started loving the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with the first Thor and Captain America movies. They were well written, acted and directed. We liked the moral compass Steve Rogers possessed, and how Thor learned to honor his responsibilities protect people and stop believing his own accolades. He became worthy of…

News: Spotted in the Parks

News: Spotted in the Parks

While You're There
A new stroller rental company has hit town. Fantasy Strollers provides carriage and spaceship styled strollers for 8 hours starting at $132. They can fit two children up to 95 lbs each. Some carriages will have a bed option. The one below appears to be one of them. I was sent this photo from Epcot (in a favorite quiet spot location). Let me know if this is something you would do for your child. UPDATE:  Disney has since put an official ban on large strollers like these.  However, last time I was there I did see larger than normal wagon-type stroller which may have just met the size maximum size restrictions. Good luck and see you in the parks!

Understanding MagicBands at Disney World

Understanding MagicBands at Disney World

Blog, Planning, While You're There
Understanding MagicBands Disney World now uses Magic Bands across all parks and hotels.  They are an integral part of the park system and you'll need them to access many of the systems at Disney World.   What are they? They are adjustable plastic bracelets with a unique RFID chip/radio inside them. The bands are adjustable for even small children by removing the dark grey border around them. They are battery operated.  No one is quite sure how long the batteries last. Why do I need one? MagicBands link you and your party to pretty much everything around the parks. It's the key to your Disney resort hotel room, your credit card (you can opt to use it for purchases), your means of utilizing the dining plan (if you have one), your…
